Biography


Elena Nenastina was born in Kamensk-Uralsky, a Russian town, in 1958 in a family of artists. Her mother worked in the theater as a decorator. Father was the main artist at the watch factory.
"After leaving the maternity hospital, my mother went to work to paint the decor in the theater and prepared costumes and the props. I lay calmly on the table in the theater's accounting department. I can say that after I was born I was already immersed in the world of art. I have always painted."
In 1977 she graduated from the Moscow School of Decorative and Applied Arts, specializing in lace artist. She worked as an artist at the Eletsky Lace Factory. Lace suits are in the collection of the Yeletsky Lace Museum and in the Russian Museum. Now Elena uses various textures like interweaving of threads in lace in her graphic works.
In 1986 she graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. She worked in the field of book design and made illustrations for many books.

Elena Nenastina has her unique author's technique using different materials: acrylic, oil pastel, oil. Her works, following the traditions of the realistic school, include elements of abstraction, deformation of space, and metaphysical mysteries. She especially succeeds in creating architectural landscapes, where one can talk about the structure of space. There are paintings of Russian, European and Eastern cities which Elena visited on tourist trips or on creative business trips that open to the viewer from the point of view of images. Her geography trip is quite wide - Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Armenia, Georgia ...
She has taken part in more than 100 exhibitions in Russia and other countries and has more than 30 solo exhibitions.
